How to use micro sd adapter

I’m in the process of choosing a new laptop with photography driving the specs of what I choose. I’ve been finding that a large number of current laptops come equipped with MicroSD card readers instead of SD card readers.

I know I can get an external SD card reader to circumvent this, but that’s a pain in the butt.

Is anyone aware of a “serious” camera (other than a drone) that uses MicroSD? We are now seeing some cameras that have gone in the opposite direction and including CF card slots.

It seems to me that the manufacturers are inconveniencing a lot of potential customers in the name of miniaturization.

It’s possible to put a MicroSD card into an adapter, and in fact that’s what I do with my IR-modified A6500 at work, but in my experience Micro cards are always slower and more expensive than full-size SD cards in real world applications, regardless of them advertising similar specs.

Just like CFExpress-A is slower and MUCH more expensive than CFE-B.
